Dhoni's struggle life and how he became the best captain

Champions are made from something they have deep inside of them -a desire, a dream, a vision...

Dhoni came to Kharagpur as a 20-year-old in 2001, desperately seeking a job.. D then divisional railway manager of South Eastern Railway Animesh Kumar Ganguly, a cricket fanatic, was desperately looking fa a wicket-keeper batsman...

"Animesh took Mahi to d South Eastern Railway Sports Association stadium, bowled him 60 balls and came back satisfied.. Dhoni got d job in sports quota," shares Siddhartha Chatterjee.. He was d captain when Dhoni played fa a local club..

When he wasn’t checking tickets on a platform at Kharagpur station in d railway uniform, Dhoni could be found in d stadium practicing with his big gloves on or wielding d willow like a scimitar..

“Mahi is one of a kind.. He never had any belongings other than a bag. And he could live out of it almost anywhere.. Fa a while, three of us used to share a rented room then he started living in d stadium with our common friend and player Jai Shukla,” recalls Robin, who still turns out fa South Eastern Railway..

It was only when Dhoni played fa clubs other than Durga Sporting that he charged a fee, which was around Rs 2,000 a match, considerably more than what d other players commanded.. But he never received d money himself.. Friends in d team would collect it..

Just ten years on, Dhoni is above Usain Bolt, Novak Djokovic and teammate Sachin Tendulkar in d latest Forbes list of “The world’s 100 richest sports persons”.

An amazing story of a true Champion!!!
